Eight.


The eighth book of the Bible is the book of Ruth. It's a complete short story, packed with meaning.

It includes the powerful refusal of Ruth to leave her mother-in-law, Naomi, with the words:

Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God.

Amongst many other messages Ruth gives us, it's a reminder that belonging doesn't always look how we might expect it to.

We are called to be radical in our understanding of belonging - open to new ways of belonging, broad in our acceptance of others, and uncompromising in our refusal to let others be left vulnerable.



As a suggestion for prayer today, why not take one or other sets of the Beatitudes found in today's 'boredom buster' section?
