Time to reflect

One thing we've been trying to stress to our children is quite how unusual a situation we're in at the moment... quite happy to take it in their stride, I think there was a danger that they'd assume this was just something that happened every now and then - or, at least, that every adult had experienced before.

Added to that, everything has been suddenly changed with the lockdown is changing again - schools have reopened their buildings to children other than those of keyworkers, non-essential shops are poised to reopen soon, churches are making plans to reopen some buildings in the next few weeks.

Amongst all this change, it is important to make sure there is time to reflect and pray about what has happened, what is happening, and what should happen next.

As St Francis de Sales once said, 'Every one of us needs half an hour of prayer each day, except when we are busy - then we need an hour.'

And so today, there won't be a photo or music suggestion, etc. If you're able to, please do pause with me to reflect and pray about the weeks gone by and the weeks ahead - and to resolve to regularly find space to keep reflecting as the changes keep coming.
