Visit this place, O Lord, we pray...

As I came home from walking the dog this morning, it struck me that 'home' is something most of us are going to be seeing an awful lot more of soon.

Here's my front door - with the Epiphany chalk house blessing, asking for God's blessing on our house this year, and the googly eyes, whose presence has nothing to do with the children (I'd try and make an argument that it's a symbol of the joy and hospitality that people may find in our house, but it might just be adult silliness - especially as our house plants all have names... more on that another time!)

[Image shows a front door with google eyes above the door knocker.
On the bricks above the door is a chalk Epiphany house blessing, which reads 20+C+M+B+20.]

For the last couple of years we've used these prayers:

"The three wise men Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar followed the star of God's Son who became human two thousand and twenty years ago. May Christ bless our homes and remain with us through the new year."

"Jesus, visit this home. Bless everyone who lives or visits here with the gift of your love. Help us to show your love to each other and all those around us. Amen."

If your house is feeling quiet today, why not add some music or singing?
It's St Patrick's day today, so St Patrick's Breastplate came to mind...

Why not try listening, singing, or praying through it? (Or all three in one - I'm sure St Patrick would approve!)
